There are 2 types of Vietnam tourist visas: DL or Evisa. Tourist visas are valid for up to 3 months and allow foreigners to enter the country multiple times. Foreigners can apply for tourist visas themselves through the website of the Immigration Department.

2 types of Vietnam tourist visas

Currently, foreign tourists traveling to Vietnam still need to apply for a Vietnam tourist visa (except for some countries that are exempt from visas).

Vietnam’s immigration law stipulates 2 types of visas for foreigners traveling as follows:

  • DL visa: Allows tourists to enter Vietnam for tourism through a sponsoring international travel company.
  • Electronic tourist visa (Evisa tourist): Made directly through the electronic system of the Immigration Department without sponsorship.

In addition, citizens of some countries can enter Vietnam for tourism under the Visa Exemption program. Including unilateral or bilateral visa exemption for a period of up to 90 days.

Tourist visa duration

DL visa is valid for a maximum of 3 months, but each time you enter, you can only stay for 30 days.

Evisa is valid for a maximum of 3 months. You are allowed to stay continuously for 3 months in Vietnam.
